The 300-acre Maple Lane Golf Club dates from 1927 and features 54 holes of golf in the North, East and West courses. The facility has long been owned by the Roehl family, who still operates the courses. The courses are routed over mildly undulating terrain, with only the one course having any water in play, although sand bunkers are utilized on about half the holes. The fairways are tree-lined, with a few large trees encroaching into the fairways.

Glenhurst Golf Course recently underwent a two year renovation process bringing in 3 new greens, elevated tees, 25 new and rebuilt bunkers, and also extensive planting of 150 trees, evergreens and shrubs. Glenhurst has also added new cart path and 2 new bridges.

From farmhouse to clubhouse, from fields to fairways Glenhurst Golf Course was established and opened to the public in1932. Glenhurst is the busiest 18 hole public golf course in the State of Michigan. Hills, valleys and old trees highlight this course.  One tree, guarding the convergence of four holes in the middle of the course, stands particularly tall among it peers. According to the plaque near the giant, beautifully shaped old oak, the tree had been there since the American Revolution.
